Infection with Hepatitis C (HCV) remains
both a major unmet medical need and a significant health care
burden. HCV infection is a major cause of chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis,
and hepatocellular carcinoma worldwide.
Current estimates suggest that approximately 3% of the world population
is infected with HCV, with an additional 3 to 4 million new cases of HCV
infection occurring annually around the world. In the
US, between 3 and 4 million people are estimated to be infected, and HCV
infection and its resulting complications are major drivers of
liver transplantation in the US.
HCV Therapeutics Research: EPB-415, EPB-500, & EPB-600
Because of the continued need for effective and safe therapies against
HCV infection, Epiphany is engaged in multiple research and preclinical
programs to develop the next generation of HCV therapeutics,
including EPB-415 (preclinical), EPB-500 (research), and EPB-200
(research). |
